Skittles at Midnight

by Conor Molloy

lyrics

Well she won't take Smarties in morning time
She won't take M&M's at midday
She won't take Maltesers in the afternoon
And in the evening put your Snickers away

She said I've tried a lot of solutions but
The only thing that's treating me right
Is when I pop open a pack of those rainbow drops
And scoff 'em at the hour of midnight

She's my Skittles at midnight girl
It’s an obsession we know
But it’s only in a Skittles at midnight world
That we'll keep away here sugar-free low

Oh la la la...

At 12 once I gave her bananas
To try and satisfy her sugary needs
But she slapped me 'round the face with so much force
That my cheek it still internally bleeds

We have to keep a decent supply in
Its no so bad I like a Skittle myself
But once I tried to pinch a purple from her plate
It wasn't good for my emotional health

She's my Skittles at midnight girl
It’s always the same time the same place
And it’s only in a Skittles at midnight world
That we’ll keep that toothless smile on her face

Oh la la la...

And once in the 24-hour shop
They were out of skittles bags on the stand
So she made me buy a party size multi-pack
Because we all need a contingency plan

And last month we ran out of money
And the bank it wouldn’t give us loan
So she said “Why don’t you just sell the car honey, you can walk to work it’s good for your bones!”

She's my Skittles at midnight girl
She's sweet but in a different way
And its only in a Skittles at midnight world
She'll treat me right the rest of the day

There was a spot of speculation
That they were gonna stop the Skittles supply
That doesn't bode well for my baby
For all I know she might even die

And if this situation should happen
Well I won't be inclined to cry
Because her sister's in to Mars bars at sunset
And she's always given me the eye

She'd be my Mars bars at sunset girl
We'd have a Milky Way on the side
She'd be my Mars bars at sunset girl
It might even be deep fried
And in our Mars bars at sunset world
We'd both glad her sister had died (x2)
